Observatory of Technologies and Artificial Intelligence in Education

The Observatory of Technologies and Artificial Intelligence in Education aims to bring to the educational community the debate on the present and future of education from the perspective of new technologies. We are an independent project that aims to bring together all actors in the educational field to contribute to the construction of inclusive, supportive and intelligent public policies in the field of education, technology and society. Our focus is to be a platform for teachers to build critical digital and media thinking and have a voice in public policies around these topics. We are based in Brazil.

Data and mapping about technology and edtechs

Edtechs, Artificial Intelligence, internet regulation... how do teachers participate in these changes?

Recent years have witnessed an important development of technologies in education, particularly during the pandemic, where schools and teachers invested in updating themselves and in the use of digital platforms. The edtech sector (as we call these platforms and websites that offer services to educational institutions) saw a 40% growth in the number of companies in 2021 and 2022 alone (data from the Brazilian Startup Association). In parallel, artificial intelligence proposes to automate repetitive tasks, but it also makes the teacher's activity more complex. How do we, teachers, participate in this process? How can we interfere in the direction of digitalized education? What is our opinion on the future of the school?
